In the evening we can choose different drinks. However, sometimes water or juice with dinner is not what we would actually drink. If you’re tempted but don’t want to drink a cup of traditional caffeine, a chamomile latte with honey is a good option.which you can drink before bed without any worries.
Caffeine is to blame for everything. Experts from Wayne State University in Michigan conducted a study in which they showed that caffeine has a stimulating effect for six hours after its consumption. In the morning, drinking your favorite cup of black coffee can give you energy, but in the late afternoon it may cause sleep problems.
Caffeine interferes with the secretion of melatonin, the hormone responsible for sleep. Importantly, according to research, drinking coffee in the evening can shorten your sleep time by up to an hour. So, if we go to bed, e.g. at 10 p.m., we should drink traditional coffee no later than 4 p.m.

In Poland, it is commonly accepted that it is a type of coffee. Preparing this drink will not take much time – it is enough time to make coffee or tea. Importantly, the ingredients can be modified to suit you, If, for example, you don’t like honey, you can easily use another sweetener or omit it completely. An important element is the base, i.e. chamomile tea and milk.
To prepare a chamomile sleep drink you will need:
- 100 ml of water,
- 200 ml of any milk, e.g. cow, soy or almond,
- 2 tablespoons of liquid honey,
- chamomile tea sachet,
- half a teaspoon of cinnamon,
- a quarter of a teaspoon of ginger.
Additionally, you can use half a teaspoon of vanilla sugar if the drink is not sweet enough. To prepare this latte, boil milk and water and add a sachet of chamomile tea. This is how we brew the drink for about 8 minutes. After this time, remove the sachet and add honey and all spices.
