Vienna – After it was decided in 2023 that the Gerasdorf Prison (JA) would no longer accept male juvenile offenders, a new facility specializing in juvenile detention and connected to the Vienna-Simmering Prison should be created at the Münnichplatz location as soon as possible. The commissioning, planned for July 2024, was delayed, but the first prisoners recently moved into their cells at Münnichplatz, the Ministry of Justice announced over the weekend.
