A passenger aged approximately 60 was immobilized with adhesive tape over her mouth during a Fiji Airways flight, between San Francisco (USA) and Nadi (Fiji), on the 20th. The aggressive and offensive behavior of the woman, apparently drunk, led to crew to take extreme measures to ensure safety on board.
According to witnesses, the passenger made racist and vulgar comments, causing widespread discomfort among other passengers. Videos recorded by those on the plane show the crew immobilizing the woman and covering her mouth, given the seriousness of the offenses.

Fiji Airways confirmed the incident, saying the situation is under investigation and reiterating that onboard staff took the necessary measures to protect passengers and maintain order on the flight.
After landing in Nadi, the woman was handed over to local authorities and remains in detention pending trial, according to Fijian police.
A passenger who witnessed the incident described the woman’s comments as “extremely offensive” and praised the crew’s quick action to resolve the situation. The airline assured that it will follow the appropriate legal procedures and that it will treat this case with the utmost seriousness.
