When to perform the first fertilization of hydrangeas in the season?

Hydress shrubs require winter agrotextile covering. It protects delicate bushes without frosts and strong winds. Few people know that not all hydrangea species require covering. Bouquet hydrangeas tolerate negative temperatures well and you don’t have to cover them. It begins when the temperatures are constantly positive and there are no night frosts. Most often it is done in March. Gardeners, however, warn you to constantly monitor the weather. It may turn out that the temperatures will drop significantly and you will need to cover the bushes again. About 2 weeks after removing winter coats, you can start the first fertilization. Experts indicate that at this time it is worth using fertilizers with prolonged action and those that strengthen flowering processes. Nitrogen -rich nutrients are a good idea.

Why do hydrangea leaves turn yellow in spring?

The yellowing of the leaves is a fairly common problem in. In early spring, focus on basic care treatments. The shrub after winter needs regular watering and fertilization. Hyded chlorosis is a phenomenon that leads to a gradual yellowing of the leaves. Consequently, it will start to fall and the bush will be amused. This problem results from chlorophyll deficiencies, i.e. a compound needed for photosynthesis. One of the most common causes of chlorosis is the wrong pH of the soil. Hydress shrubs grow best in the ground with a slightly acidic reaction. Too high pH leads to yellowing of the leaves. Nitrogen and iron deficiencies can also be manifested in this way. If your hydrangea yellow, first examine the pH of the soil.
