This Tuesday in the Council of Ministers a new decree, replacing the bus, containing the revaluation of pensions, the transport bonus, aid to those affected by the dana and the update of the Minimum Living Income. “If the decree is limited to that, we will vote in favor,” said Josep Rius, spokesperson for Carles Puigdemont’s party. “The ball is in the Government’s court.”
Junts has opted not to change its position even one bit despite the social pressures it is receiving. Rius has insisted that the Government knows what its proposal is to get out of the current impasse and has maintained that the proposal they defend with individualized measures can involve “immediate solutions.” The omnibus decree also included aid for vulnerable people who may suffer supply cuts but, for now, Junts has pointed out that they have proposed including in the decree those that have created the most “social alarm” without refusing to negotiate others in the future.
Except for a last-minute twist, the situation is stuck after it could not be validated in Congress after the rejection of the PP, Junts and Vox. Puigdemont’s party maintains that a year ago the Government already told him that it would not present texts of this type again and regrets that he has used the same strategy again. “Do not make us advance scenarios,” said Rius when asked what future this legislature has if the Government once again approves the omnibus decree in its entirety.
and the Government continues without making a move. “Some forget who they work for and others abuse tactics, and the people pay the bill,” said the number two of ERC, in a criticism of both the PP, Vox and Junts and the Executive. From there, he directly asked Pedro Sánchez this Monday to “recover the decrees” and take them to the Council of Ministers tomorrow, Tuesday, for approval and subsequent validation.
ERC, Alamany has assured, will maintain its position. “It will always be the same: the one that most benefits the citizens of Catalonia and the progress of this country.” The Republicans did not want to go into the detail of what these new decrees should be and have asked the Government to “do what it believes is most convenient” but quickly. “In addition to having a regrettable Rodalies service, now you have to pay more for it,” criticized the general secretary of ERC and then threw a dart at Junts. “ERC knows what its trench is and will never leave the people of Catalonia stranded.”
