“In the case of repatriations, we will always accept the arrival of Mexicans and Mexicans to our territory with open arms”said SRE in a statement. The agency highlighted cooperation with the US on migratory themes, “Respecting the sovereignties of both countries.”
According to NBC Newswhich cited sources from the US Department of Defense, 2 American Air Force C-17 aircraft, each with 80 deported, took off to Guatemala on Thursday night (23.jan). A 3rd flight, scheduled for Mexico, did not obtain permission for takeoff, according to the station.

The Pentagon reported that it began the use of C-130 and C-17 military aircraft for deportations, previously performed on civil planes.
