ÖVP in the downward spiral

The mayors are the power and the basis of the ÖVP. Throughout Austria, especially in Lower Austria. And there is a discrepancy between the state governors, who often represent this power with a touch of arrogance, and the mayors, who exercise this power in their communities with far less arrogance, i.e. do their job. Also in Lower Austria. The times of local emperors are over. The few exceptions confirm the overall picture. These are all politicians who are elected and voted out if they do not fulfill their role well.
