The Palestinian population should not be expelled from Gaza, the German Foreign Ministry said on Monday (27), after United States President Donald Trump said that Jordan and Egypt should welcome the Palestinians.
Asked about Trump’s comments, a Foreign Ministry spokesman said Berlin shares the view of “the European Union, our Arab partners, the United Nations that the Palestinian population should not be expelled from Gaza and that the territory must not be permanently occupied or recolonized by Israel.”
Jordan is already home to , while tens of thousands live in Egypt.
Both countries and other Arab nations reject the idea that Gaza’s Palestinians be transferred to their countries and the territory is land that the Palestinians would like to have.
