The Judiciary Police (PJ) announced this Monday the arrest, in Lisbon, of a man wanted by the French authorities for more than 200 crimes of sexual abuse of a woman.daughter to whom he was related, having been detained in preventive detention.
PJ source told Lusa that the 51-year-old man, subject of a European arrest warrantopeu, is of Portuguese nationality and a statement from that police says that he is accused of more than 200 crimes of child sexual abuse and coercion, which occurred between 2010 and 2015, starting when the victim was six years old.
The operation that led to the arrest of the suspect was carried out by the Directorate of Lisbon and Vale do Tejo and the International Cooperation Unit of the Judicial Police, in cooperation with the French police authorities and was the result of an investigation that was carried out for more than a year.
Present at the first judicial interrogation, at the Sintra Court, the man saw the coercive measure of preventive detention being applied.
