North Korea charges at a price of gold for the thousands of soldiers transferred to Putin

The head of the Center for Countering Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Andriy Kovalenko, has assured that is becoming increasingly dependent on North Korea for artillery supplies.

According to Kovalenko, this fact is demonstrated, for example, in the transfer of self-propelled guns M1978 Koksan that the country led by has done to the country chaired by Vladimir Putin.

Andriy Kovalenko has expressed in this regard that “the arrival in Russia of M1978 Koksan 170 mm self-propelled artillery systems and their deployment in the Kursk region indicate not only the exhaustion of Russian heavy artillery units, but also a growing shortage.”

“Moscow is increasingly turning to Pyongyang, becoming more dependent”said the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.

In addition, Kovalenko has highlighted Russia’s heavy dependence on North Korean ammunition in combat operations. “In some sectors, more than 50% (and in certain areas more than 70%) of Russian artillery and mortar shells come from North Korea”he highlighted.

And it is not the only military contribution that North Korea could make to Russia in the short term. South Korean intelligence suggests that Kim Jong-un is reportedly considering sending additional troops to help Russia on the battlefield.

For his part, the head of Ukrainian intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov, has indicated that North Korea could transfer another 150 short-range ballistic missiles to Russia this year along with additional howitzers.
