In the United States, the mandatory return to the office is bringing many hybrid and remote workers to consider a change of employment, according to the Forbes. A recent study by the Pew Research Center shows that 46% of workers considered abandoning their duties if the employer eliminates work options from home. Currently, three out of four workers (75%) enjoy some form of work flexibility, either through a totally remote regime or a hybrid model that combines classroom work with remote. However, the idea of a total return to the office has generated divisions.
Women have a greater trend (49%) to look for another job compared to men (43%), if remote work is no longer an option, according to data revealed by. The difference is even more pronounced among age groups: workers under 50 are more willing to change jobs (50%) than older colleagues (35%).
Employees who work exclusively remote are more resistant to changes (61%) than those in hybrid regimes (47%) or that occasionally work from home (28%). In addition, dissatisfaction in the workplace seems to be a determining factor: less satisfied workers are the ones who most consider changing function if remote work is eliminated.
Despite the growing preference for remote work, finding new opportunities with this level of flexibility can be a challenge. A recent summer builder survey indicates that 87% of companies plan to demand face -to -face work by the end of 2025, signaling a possible trend for a more widespread return to the office.
Regarding these data, it is not yet known what will be the consequences of an eventual end of remote work and consequent return of workers to companies, but as in the US, probably the reaction of them will not be at all positive, given Benefits that work at home brings, especially in terms of time management.
