Around 1.4 million Viennese can vote in the local council, state parliament and district council elections on April 27th. The city of Vienna announced this on Monday. In principle, all those who are 16 years old on election day, have Austrian citizenship on the deadline – January 28th – and have their main residence in Vienna are eligible to vote in the local council election. People with citizenship of an EU country are also allowed to vote in the district council elections.
