Accompanied by councilors and municipal secretaries, the mayor of Rio Branco, Tião Bocalom, paid a visit to the construction works on the walkway that connects the neighborhoods of Ayrton Sena and Aeroporto Velho, in the capital, this Monday morning (27).

According to management, the space requires an investment of R$1,755,000, from its own resources, and is expected to be delivered by the end of February. The project should benefit thousands of people, especially students who needed to walk around 3 km to get to school.
During the visit, the mayor highlighted the city hall’s commitment to completing the work, which began in 2021. According to him, the construction faced challenges throughout the process, including the fall of one of the walkway columns, which required the complete redesign. The factor resulted in delays, but guaranteed greater safety for the walkway structure.
Bocalom also spoke about the concern in executing a safe and economically viable project, using municipal resources efficiently. “Our objective is really to create a work that lasts, not a work that has future problems. We know that our region, our soil, is quite unstable, as we say in engineering, but all the study was done. I am absolutely sure that the work here is now safe”, he stated.

The president of the Rio Branco City Council, Joabe Lira, accompanied by two other councilors, expressed his satisfaction with the work carried out by the current administration.
“It’s great that we start the year 2025 not just delivering a project, but realizing a dream for this community and the chamber is present here: I, councilor Ayache and councilor Matheus Paiva are also following this work. What have we been talking about? A strong City Council, going hand in hand with the Executive Branch, will be able to do much more”, he informed.
