The Algarve Coordination and Regional Development Commission (CCDR) will advance with the recovery and requalification of the São Francisco Building, located in Faro, to welcome regional services in the areas of territory and culture.
For this project, a contract with the company Ambarriga, Engineering and Construções, Lda, was signed, responsible for the rehabilitation and benefit work of the building. This intervention is part of CCDR Algarve’s strategy for the maintenance and appreciation of its facilities.
According to a statement from the Regional Coordination and Development Commission, the objective is to “requalify that space that will welcome the services of the CCDR Algarve Culture Culture Unit and the Division of Geographic Information System”.
The endeavor, with an execution period of 60 days, represents a total investment of 117 thousand euros, plus VAT. The project includes the rehabilitation of coverage and calendar, repair and painting of interior and exterior walls, expansion of electrical and iTed installations, and the relocation of external air conditioners.
Over the past three years, CCDR Algarve has developed several initiatives to maintain and appreciate its facilities, highlighting the installation of electricity self-production systems from renewable sources and the introduction of automatic systems to improve energy efficiency.
For this year, in addition to the intervention in the São Francisco building, the procedures for two major works in the facilities of Patacão, Faro, and CEAT, in Tavira, reinforce the commitment to the modernization and efficiency of their infrastructures.
