The inquiry reveals that Bolsonaro appropriated and benefited from the sale of four jewelry sets, which were marketed in resulting in a deviation of approximately 6.8 million reais from the public collection. The list of defendants, released in July 2024, includes the former president and 11 more people. The investigation points out that Bolsonaro signed a power of attorney that granted Wajngarten full freedom to handle and transport jewelry, including on international routes, which raises suspicions about the extent of Wajngarten’s involvement.
The Federal Police are particularly aware that the “Rosé Gold Kit” and international routes are specified in the power of attorney, suggesting a possible role of Wajngarten in the concealment of jewelry. This inquiry is just one of several who investigate former President Jair Bolsonaro.
