We often try to remove these stickers, either definitely and to replace them with more up-to-date, and we just go removing fragments from them, which is indeed an uncomfortable situation. Removing an old sticker may seem like a difficult task, especially when it is well fixed. However, there is a simple and effective method you can use to facilitate this task. Here’s what you need:
- A microfiber cloth
- A carbonated soda (like Coca-Cola)
- A plastic spatula (essential to avoid scratching the glass)
Steps for removal, according to:
- Set the sticker: Wet a microfiber cloth with the soda and apply it directly on the sticker. Acid in soda helps dissolve glue and soften the paper or plastic;
- Let it act: Wait a few minutes for the liquid to soften the glue well;
- Remove carefully: Use the plastic spatula to lift one end of the sticker and take off with soft movements. If you find resistance, apply more soda and repeat the process;
- Clean the glass: After removing the sticker, again wipe the microfiber cloth on the glass to remove any glue residue.
If you prefer, you can replace soda with isopropyl alcohol, which is also effective for removing stickers. By eliminating the windshield seals, it will be improving the visibility and aesthetics of the car. Take this opportunity to check that the glass is clean and free from other waste.
