Jürgen Klopp, Liverpool’s former successful coach, arrives in Brazil on Tuesday for a visit to Red Bull Bragantino, one of the clubs of the giant multinational. Currently Global Football Chief of Red Bull, German will have his first direct contact with the team of Bragança Paulista. During his stay, Klopp will have the opportunity to get to know the club better, his premises and watch up closely two games, including the confrontation with Palmeiras, for the 5th round of the Paulista Championship
Klopp’s visit, which should last between three and four days, includes a tour of Bragantino’s Performance and Development Center (CPD), located in Atibaia. Inaugurated last year, the center was designed focused on innovation and sustainability, presenting improvements such as the use of natural light and ventilation systems. During this visit, Klopp will have conversations with coach Fernando Seabra and sports director Diego Cerri. However, any contact with the cast or a press conference is not foreseen.
The former coach, who recently abandoned the role of coach to assume a more strategic role within Red Bull, is preparing to deepen the culture of Brazilian football and know the particularities of Bragantino, without the intention to impose new working methods In this first moment. Klopp aims to understand how the club works, observing the infrastructure and work style of the professionals who run the team.
The visit to Brazil also marks the beginning of the new phase of Klopp as mentor of Red Bull clubs, including Salzburg (Austria), RB Leipzig (Germany), New York Red Bulls (USA) and RB omiya Ardija (Japan), besides from Bragantino. Even with the focus on his administrative function, Klopp still shows interest in maintaining a strong connection with practical football, following the competitions and actions of the brand’s clubs.
Klopp is expected to watch the match between Palmeiras and Bragantino at Allianz Parque and will follow the game of the São Paulo team against Novorizontino on Friday at the Nabi Abi Chedid stadium in Bragança Paulista. There are no plans for public events or interviews so far during the technician’s stay in Brazil, which will be focused exclusively on observation and integration with the club’s culture and activities.
