Poles’ interest in electric vehicles is growing, the government has launched subsidies

The aim is to facilitate Polish families buying electric vehicles. The total program budget is 1.6 billion zloty.

The Polish Department of Climate and the Environment (MKIS) launched the “Naszeauto” subsidy program on Tuesday to support the purchase of electric vehicles. The support consists of the basic amount and bonus for this TASR.

According to Deputy Minister Krzysztof pain, the government wants to facilitate Polish families to buy electric vehicles. “We realize that such vehicles are the future of the automotive industry. Therefore, we present the Naszeauto program, which focuses on subsidizing the purchase of electric vehicles and not on the taxation of combustion cars, “says pain.

According to TVN24, the Minister said that it may be the last such project to support electric vehicles. “The whole of Europe is receding from subsidies and we will also do it,” the minister said.

Interest in electric cars is growing

The recruitment of applications will start on February 3 and subsidies to finance leasing and long -term rental of electric vehicles. The money for the project is earmarked from the national plan of renewal and increasing the resistance of Poland. The mechanism for supporting renewal and durability is an EU program aimed at financial support for projects in response to the challenges that states have found during the Covid Pandemic.

Support will cover brand new electric vehicles with a raid of up to 6000 kilometers. The price of such an electric car must not exceed 225,000 zloty (EUR 53,326) and demonstration vehicles are included in the program.

According to a study by the Polish Association of New Mobility, in 2024, an electric car was about three times more Poles than in 2020. The study showed that approximately 24 % of the addressed Poles wants to buy an electric car. In 2020, only 7 % of the surveyed inhabitants of Poland were of the same interest. The biggest obstacle to investing in electric vehicles remains the price. However, a total of 74 % of the total number of Poles addressed is willing to choose an electric car if its price is not more than 10,000 zlotys (EUR 2339) than the gasoline version.
