Serbian Prime Minister Milos Vucevic announced his resignation on Tuesday, becoming the highest level authority to leave office as long as anti-corruption protests spread across the country.
Belgrade has been the scene of daily protests against the government since a roof collapsed in November at a railway station in Novo Sad, Serbia’s second largest city, killing 15 people.
Protesters, including students, teachers and other workers, attended the thousands, saying that the disaster occurred due to corruption within the government of President Aleksandar Vucic.

“With that, we meet all the requirements of the most radical protesters.”
Vucevic is the head of the Serbian Progressive Party of Centro-right in power since 2023.
