Short film that deals with the life of a dead transvestite in Rio Branco will be released in February

Bismark Moura and Carlos Eduardo’s “Lights of the Arch”, directed by Ivan de Castile, will have his debut on February 5, at 7 pm, at Cine Teatro Recreio, in Rio Branco, Acre. The 15 -minute drama impactly reconstructs Fernanda Machado da Silva’s last moments, a 27 -year -old transvestite, victim of a brutal crime motivated by prejudice.

Remember the case:

With indicative classification for over 18 years and free admission, the film is a powerful complaint against violence and dehumanization faced by transvestites in Brazil. The plot has as its main point the death of Fernanda, besides addressing her daily life and her prostitution peer colleagues.

According to screenwriter Carlos Eduardo, the premiere promises to thrill the public and rekindle essential discussions about the dignity and human rights of trans people in Brazil.

“This short film is impactful because it portrays the story of a transvestite who had experience with us within various cultural groups. During his career in art, he did not drug or prostitute himself, when he walked away ended up in this world and turning into statistics. ”

The project is produced with funds from the Paulo Gustavo Law and was supported by the Elias Mansour Culture Foundation, the Acre Government and the Social, Cultural and Sports Institute Crazy in the fields. “Rainbow Lights” is more than a movie; It is a call to reflection on the structural prejudice that insists on silencing voices and stories such as Fernanda’s.
