Snow became strong last Monday in various regions of the North and Center of Portugal. In the afternoon, Vila Raiana de Montalegre, in the Vila Real district, was toasted with intense foggles, while in the city of Guarda the snow began to fall into dusk, mixing with rain and ice. Also the village of Grarheira, located in Serra do Montemuro, in the district of Viseu, was strongly affected by the weather conditions.
Local inhabitants recorded the moments on video and shared the images on the Facebook Meteo page brings the Montes, which is dedicated to documenting weather phenomena in the region.
In Serra da Estrela, snow led to the closing of several sections of the 339 National Road, which crosses the central massif, making it difficult for road circulation. This winter scenario came to bring charm, but also challenges to the communities of the affected areas.
