In addition to Vucevic, also the mayor of Novi Sad will be dismissed
Serbian Prime Minister Milos Vucevic announced his resignation on Tuesday, Reuters advances. The resignation arises following the anti -corruption protests that spread across the country.
“I opted for this measure to reduce tensions. With this, we satisfy all the demands of the most radical protesters, ”Vucevic said at a press conference.
In addition to Vucevic, also the mayor of Novi Sad will be dismissed.
The daily protests against the government began in November, when a roof collapsed at a railway station in Novi SAD, Serbia’s second largest city, killing 15 people.
Protesters – including students, teachers and other workers – attribute catastrophe to corruption within the government of President Aleksandar Vucic.
