Toprak Razgatlioglu dominates first day of superbike tests at the Algarve Race

After one morning with the wet track, Superbike World Cup drivers took the afternoon Solarenga to fulfill the first day of testing at the Algarve International Race Track.

The journey was marked by an impressive balance, with six builders positioning motorcycles on the top 10 and the four fastest riders separated by less than a tenth of second, each to motorcycle commands of different brands. This performance leaves an extremely competitive 2025 season.

With the Dry Portimão layout and the wind decreasing, the conditions became almost perfect. In addition to the main riders, representatives of Honda and BMW brands were on track, as well as teams of the endurance world.

The attack on the best times has only begun in the last 30 minutes of the session, with exciting laps and intense rhythms. Toprak Razgatlioglu, title champion, recorded the fastest lap at 1m40,650s, just a tenth of the record set by Álvaro Bautista last August. The Turkish, still recovering from a finger on a right hand, used a glove adapted to compete and left Italian Axel Bassani of the Bimota team, just 29 milliseconds of second.

Nicolò Bulega was the third fastest, 98 thousandths of Razgatlioglu, followed by Remy Gardner, who was the leader’s 99 thousandths, thus closing a prominent group where the differences were minimal.

This competitive level highlights the intensity of the Superbike World Cup 2025, whose second round of the calendar is scheduled for late March, again at the Algarve International Race Track.

Tickets to watch the event are already on sale on the official website of the race track in.
