Parish Councils, Associations and Citizens now have more time to submit their candidates to the Gervasium adds a prize, an initiative of the Verde Ponto Society (SPV) that distinguishes innovative projects in the area of packaging recycling and the circular economy. The deadline was extended until February 8, and applications can be made through the site.
The award is intended for projects developed in mainland Portugal, Madeira and Azores, which promote good practices in the separation and deposition of packaging, with the potential to be replicated in other regions, increasing selective collection.
The projects will be evaluated based on the innovation and the economic, social and environmental impact that generate in their communities. The winners will be announced until June and will receive the following prizes:
- Category “parishes”: one Gervásio Technological Kit for the 1st classified and Four Honorable Mentions.
- Categories “entities of proximity” and “social citizenship”: The first three classifieds will receive monetary awards for a total of € 16,500in addition to two honorable mentions in each category.
The extension of the deadline arises due to the high number of applications submitted in the final stretch, allowing more stakeholders to run.
The jointly add to the Gervásio award has the support of the Portuguese Environment Agency (APA), National Association of Parishes (Anafre), National Association of Portuguese Municipalities (ANMP), Directorate-General for Economic Activities (DGAE) and ISCTE Executive Education, while knowledge partner.
