Six people were arrested, on Wednesday (29), in operation triggered by the Civil Police of Espírito Santo, which occurs in the state and Rio de Janeiro, simultaneously. The “Lost Connection” operation aimed at the criminal organization called “Third Pure Command (TCP)”, which used a kind of “parallel bank”, operating in the Maré (RJ) complex, to receive extortion scheme money with entrepreneurs.
According to investigations, Bruno Gomes de Faria and Luan Gomes de Faria, known as “brothers Vera”, pointed out as heads of the faction in Espírito Santo, and Marcos Luiz Pereira, called “MK”, had as main source of income.
How the scheme worked
According to the PC, the services of the services mentioned could only act in areas dominated by the faction from monthly payment, which would reach R $ 10,000.
It was proven by investigations that an internet entrepreneur joined the TCP and began to damage rival companies so that residents became their customers.
“From this moment on, investigations make it clear that the faction becomes a kind of partner of this businessman. An internet center was even deactivated at Morro da Bottle in Vitória, ”said the coordinator of the Center for Intelligence and Telematic Analysis (Ciat), delegate Alan Moreno de Andrade.
To receive illicit values, criminals used several bank accounts, such as a lottery and a kind of “parallel bank” (irregular financial institution), which operated inside the Maré Complex in Rio de Janeiro.
“These places washed the illicit capital generated by Maré narcotics, as well as TCP Vitória, moving $ 43 million in just under a year,” said Alan.
Operation Results
Three people were arrested in Espírito Santo and one of them is the businessman suspected of involvement with the faction. The other two are: a family member of Luan Gomes de Faria and a third individual arrested in the act for drug trafficking. In Rio, three more individuals were arrested.
Police report that the final numbers will be disclosed in due course.
In Espírito Santo, the operation had more than 60 police officers. In Rio de Janeiro, there were more than 250 police officers. Of these, 200 are from the Special Police Operations Battalion (Bope). The agents also had the support of carioca and capixabas civil police, as well as the use of six armored and two helicopters.
The operation was also supported by civil police officers from the Special Resources Coordination (CORE), Specialized Department of Homicide and Personnel Protection (DEHPP), Specialized Department of Criminal Investigations (DEIC) and the Narcotics Department (Denarc).
