One person has died calcined and another has been serious injuries to jump on a train car in Lleida this Tuesday night. The Mossos d’Esquadra that all victims would have jumped from the pedestrian catwalk on the car and one of them would have touched the catenary. The deceased person has not yet been identified. The Catalan police maintain the investigation and the injured person has been transferred to the Arnau de Vilanova Hospital.
As a consequence of the accident, the train has stopped with more than 150 people inside. Lleida Station has also suffered effects when running out of tension. Subsequently, passengers have been able to go down and Adif has managed an alternative transport, as they have explained through social networks. The affected train, an Alvia, covered the route Coruña – Barcelona and planned to reach the Catalan capital at night.
The event happened around 20.30 on Tuesday. At Lleida Station, the roads go through a pedestrian catwalk that enables user access. Given the proximity of the car, the two people have jumped directly and one of them would have touched the catenary.
Before the blockade of the roads, the circulation has been paralyzed in large part of the high speed route. “Due to the intrusion of people outside the railroad in areas not allowed at the Lleida station, the circulation of high -speed trains is suspended,” Adif said on social networks. The incidence does not affect the trains that have no stop at the Catalan station, but it has forced the convoys of the Madrid-Barcelona line with a stop in Lleida to stop in previous stations of the journey.
