The Theater of Figures, in Faro, receives in February a diverse program that includes opera, theater, concerts and a solidarity show, bringing the stage artists and renowned companies national and international.
The season starts on February 7, at 21:00, with Gaetano Donizetti’s opera “The Elixir de Amor”, in a production of the São Carlos National Theater. Considered one of the most beloved operas ever, the piece adds more than 100 stage interpreters, including singers, choir and orchestra, marking the first stop of national tour.
On February 14, also at 21:00, the stage “wanted to know who I am – a theatrical concert”, from the D. Maria II National Theater and staged by Pedro Penim. Inspired by Paulo de Carvalho’s song “And After Goodbye”, the show revisits iconic themes of the Revolution of April 25, 1974, through the interpretation of young people between 16 and 20 years.
On February 15, at 9:30 pm, the stage receives Tommy Emmanuel, one of the world’s most virtuous guitarists, known for his fingerpicking technique. The concert is part of the 8th International Faro Guitar Festival and promises a unique spectacle for guitar lovers.
The next day, on 16 February, at 6:00 pm, the Algarve Orchestra, under the direction of conductor Pablo Urbina, invites Russian Remasin pianist for a special concert, integrated in the 120th anniversary celebrations of Rotary International. With a repertoire that includes works by Mikhail Glinka, Elliot Carter and Frédéric Chopin, part of the recipe will reverse to Rotary supported social projects.
On February 18, at 9:30 pm, Faro receives “Paredes”, a show that marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Carlos Paredes. In a co -production of the Faro Municipal Theater, the musicians Six Organs of Admitten (Ben Chasny) and Norberto Lobo celebrate the influence of the Portuguese guitar master in a must -see concert.
The semi-Opera “Win the Day” takes the stage on February 21 at 9:30 pm. Produced by Artis XXI and repeated question, this participatory art work joins professional and non -professional interpreters, including elements of the Inclusive Group Theater of the ATON, ASMAL – Algarve Mental Health Association, accompanied by the Baroque D’Alchestra orchestra.
The month ends with the play “At first sight”, on February 27, at 9:30 pm, starring actress Margarida Vila-Nova. With the staging of Tiago Guedes, this legal thriller promises an intense and engaging narrative, exploring the relationship between morals and power.
