The Brazil nuts of Brazil 2024-2025 won a new chapter on Tuesday (28) with the significant increase in the price of the product can, which was marketed for R $ 115.00 in the port of Sena Madureira. The value represents a growth of greater than 60% over the beginning of the harvest, driven by the strong competition between buyers.
The fierce dispute over the chestnut has moved the local economy, with thousands of cans arriving at the port of the city. The product comes from the most diverse nuts scattered throughout the former rubber tappers in the region, ensuring job opportunities and extra income for producers.
Tassiano Macedo, one of the main buyers of the crop, said it offers transportation, depending on access, and makes the payment at the time of delivery. “The demand is large, and we are guaranteeing the proper price to meet the demand,” he said.
The expectation between workers and traders in the sector is that the price of the can continue to remain, making the crop even more profitable. Workouts loaded with nuts are already being stored in the chestnut house, while the product benefited by local workforce goes to other states and even to export.
In addition to strengthening the economy of Sena Madureira, the appreciation of chestnut can attract new investments to the region’s logistics infrastructure, facilitating transportation and ensuring sustainable growth for workers who depend on this activity.
