The state of recorded more deaths by by 2025 than the previous year. To date, three deaths have been confirmed in January, surpassing the two cases and a death that occurred in 2024. This alarming increase marks the largest number of cases since 2019, when 64 indigenous cases and 12 deaths were counted. This year, seven cases of yellow fever in humans were officially confirmed, all located in the interior of the state. The cities of Socorro, Tuiuti and Joanópolis are the most affected, with four, one and one case, respectively. In response to this situation, health authorities are intensifying vaccination campaigns in these areas.
