Do you also speak to your dog friend and do you feel they understand you well? It is partly true, but what if he could also clearly express what he is thinking about? Scientists believe it is possible.
Scientists have been thinking about intermediate communication for decades, and many research has been carried out on this topic. People tried to communicate with apes of IS dolphins, but now it turns out that even in dogs we are not without hope. It is likely that one day we will really understand each other. One of the last studies has brought a literally fascinating finding that dogs manage a combination of two “words” to express their needs.
Dogs of scientists surprised
It goes without saying that dogs actually did not speak in this experiment, but scientists have presented them with sound plates on which each button represented a word. Dogs not only learned to express their wishes quite accurately using such sound effects, but they soon began to combine them. And so the dog could not only express the desire to go out, but even determined the place he would like to visit – for example by combining the pressing of buttons that represented “out” and “park”. Isn’t that amazing?

The coincidence is probably not going
In addition to the enthusiastic supporters of a breakthrough study, of course, there are also skeptical statements that argue that it can be a mere coincidence. But scientists who worked on research try to refute. They watched a total of 152 dogs for almost two years and as it turned out, it was not a mere repetition of human communication, but a clear choice of dog interests. While people more often chose buttons expressing affection to their furry pets, they retaliated with their requests for walks, playing, or feeding.
Maybe they’re much smarter than we think
Also, in the case of the questions concerning feeding, researchers have seen the recurring sequence of responses that consisted of the adjoining pressing of the “feed” and “water” buttons. So dogs seem to be able to not only assemble such a combination, but also to present comprehensibly. Maybe we should thoroughly rethink our idea of the intelligence and thinking of animals (probably not only dogs). It is not excluded that they are much more advanced than we think – we cannot only communicate with them fully.
They also understand words
Indeed, dog breeders usually realize well that their pets understand quite a large number of words, which sometimes even good not to say in front of them. For example, if the dog learns the phrase “we go out” to associate with reality, we could later give him problems if we did not fulfill our promise. His expectations of the walk would collapse without the animal knowing why.
They know your names
It is also clear that dogs will learn to expect the arrival of a certain family member according to its name or general designation. He is looking forward to one and will wait for him in the hallway from the moment he learns that for example “Katka comes”, but the one who ignores it too much and is not created such a solid bond, only briefly look at the moment , when the door clashes.
They communicate, just a little differently
Thus, even though dogs cannot talk as humans, they certainly have the ability to understand a lot of instructions and process information that we offer them in a simple way. Now it turns out that with the help of audio signals and by means of buttons they can express more than we would expect. Who knows what we will learn about them in the near future will probably be a lot of wonder.
