Data from the Broad National Consumer Price Index (IPCA), released by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), point out that eating at home became more expensive in Rio Branco. The increase in food price was 9% in the Acrean capital in 2024.

The percentage was above the national average, which is 8.23%. Rio Branco occupies the 5th position of Brazilian capitals with the highest increase in the price of food in 2024.
First is Campo Grande (MS), with 11.3%, followed by Goiânia (GO), with 10.65%, and São Paulo (SP), which increased by 10.07%in food price. Fourth is São Luis (MA), with an increase of 9.56%.
At the end of the ranking, with lower elevation in food price are Porto Alegre (2.89%), Aracaju (5.07%) and Salvador, with an increase of 5.84%.
