What wood for a bake?

But if you are not from the village and you only see a campfire about witches or summer camps, you probably don’t have wood, so to speak. It is not ashamed. Even seemingly experienced sometimes make all sorts of dog pieces when using wood for heating.

Different wood has different calorific value and is suitable for other things. Generally, the soft woods are suitable for the chips on the piping and then also if you are trying to heat intensely in the kitchen stove, when you need to raise quickly and keep high temperature in the oven. Soft wood burns faster, it also burns quickly, as well as hot carbons in a very short time.

On the other hand, hardwoods do all this slower and hot carbons can therefore be an important source of intense heat that hardwood needs for a desert. Because it burns slower, you consume smaller quantities. It does not pointed into small pieces or chips, because the goal is a slow long burning, which still brakes a larger piece of wood.

The woodwood must be well stored and drying for several years to be suitable for the desert. Why and what it looks like when it is not, you could learn in the post. The wood moisture should be less than 20 %.

The length of the wood should be proportional to the stoves. As already mentioned, hard and long burning wood is preferable to have it cut into the largest pieces, which, however, fit comfortably in the stove or fireplace. Soft wood is pinched for chips, but also nice quartered logs, which can be easily attached.

However, there are also those who pinch all wood for very small pieces. They then drown in these pieces, the room does not heat up enough, but only temperament. But they feel they had saved. Such a way of heating is extremely time consuming and requires stoking after short intervals. Instead, it is advisable to let one proper log of hard wood burn in hot coals, which without the help and constant control of the mountains for several hours with a slow pulse.

The stove needs to be cleaned before the fire and make sure the chimney is open. For this is a flap or lever around the fireplace or chimney. For kitchen stoves, there is a possibility to leave the air over the stove directly into the chimney, which causes faster and stronger thrust suitable for the burning.
