The Federal Highway Police (PRF) seized on January 29, an irregular load of native wood sawing in an inspection held on BR-317, km 86, in the municipality of Senador Guiomard, interior of Acre.
In the approach, documents were requested as the Forestry Document (DOF), a certificate that allows the transportation of forest products, but in the action the team noted that the route traveled by the vehicle carrying the material was in disagreement with the one presented in the license environmental. Thus, the fact raised suspicions about the legality of the wood.
The material of about 19 cubic meters, belongs to the Tauari and Tauari-Red species, material commonly used in the manufacture of furniture and architectural pieces such as floors and doors.
The cargo was delivered to the Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (Ibama) for measures to be taken. The crime is framed in the article of the Environmental Crimes Law (Law No. 9.605/1998) which frames infractions related to the transportation of unlicensed natural goods.
