“It is very simple, if it taxes Brazilian products, there will be reciprocity from Brazil to tax the products that are exported to the United States. Simple, ”said Lula.
Lula’s speech concerns Trump’s determination on January 20, when he said that to enrich the US, promising a revision of the commercial system.

“He [Trump] You just have to respect the sovereignty of other countries. He was elected to govern the United States of North America and the other presidents were elected to govern their countries. That’s it, civility, ”said Lula.
On Trump’s inauguration day on January 20, the Brazilian president congratulated the Republican through social networks, wishing a “successful” mandate. On Thursday, however, the first time Lula spoke publicly about the new US government, including taking the opportunity to criticize some of the adopted measures.
Among them, he cited departure from the United States from the Paris Agreement and the World Health Organization (WHO), announced by the Republican President on the same day he assumed the presidency.
“I think that, to break the Paris agreement and not give money to WHO, is a regression to human civilization,” Lula said.
The president of Brazil said they had no interest in direct contact with Trump at the moment, just hoping that a relationship of “sovereign state with sovereign state” will be established.
“I want to respect the United States and I want Trump to respect Brazil. That’s all, if this happens, it’s a good size, ”he said.
