US Figure Skating, an organization that supervises sports across the country, confirmed that “several members” of its community were aboard the American Airlines flight that collided with a helicopter in Washington, DC, on Wednesday night (29 ).
“These athletes, coaches, and family members were returning to the National Development Camp house held in conjunction with the US Figure Skating Championships in Wichita, Kansas,” the organization said in a statement to CNN.
