National Comic Stories Day: Meet free gibitecas in SP

Readers can lend up to 10 comic books, among the circulating specimens.

The Gibiteca of the Monteiro Lobato Children’s Library, in Vila Buarque, has a collection of over 4,400 specimens of comics and more than 2,300 collections of comics and manga, as well as board games and reading spaces.

The opening hours follow the same hours as the library: Monday to Friday, from 8am to 5pm, and on Saturdays, from 10am to 2pm.

The Bibliosp platform is a free online streaming service offered by the City Hall, where you can access a comic book selection of more than 17,000 titles available on the platform in more than five languages. In addition to being possible to consult which copies are available in the collection of each library.

Some emblematic comics are available in this digital collection, such as some special volumes of Marvel Comics – “Civil War” (2017), “Zombies Marvel” (2014) and “Secret Invasion” (2015) – and DC Comics – such as “Batman: Deadly Joke ”(2011),“ Superman: between the scythe and the hammer ”(2017),“ Justice League: Origin ”(2017),” Batman: Year One ”(2005).
