Razgatlioglu and Bautista behind Lowes in the tests interrupted by the rain in the Algarve

The passage of the Superbike World Cup through the Algarve International Race Track, initially scheduled for two days of final tests before the 2025 season, was reduced to only half a business day due to adverse weather conditions, with Alex Lowes registering the best time on Second day.

The rain, which was present throughout this Wednesday, prevented the teams from fully complying with the work plan. There was only a short time when the pilots were able to carry out a few quick laps, but the instability of time did not allow the asphalt to dry completely. As a result, many teams have chosen not to go into track in the afternoon, focusing on the preparation of the trip to Australia, where the first race of the season will take place.

Alex Lowes recorded the best time of the day, with a minimum advantage of only 5 thousandths of the second over Toprak Razgatlioglu. Álvaro Bautista, who suffered a fall shortly after lunch without physical consequences, was less than a second of the British. The times around were significantly superior to the day before, reflecting the difficulties imposed by the wet track. Nicolò Bulega, for example, didn’t even get on track on this second day, and the best global times were eventually recorded at Tuesday’s session.

Without major developments to register, this last day of testing proved little productive for the platoon, which had already been conditioned by the weather conditions in the previous tests performed in Spain. Now, all teams concentrate again on the trip to Australia, where they will officially start the championship. The second round of the season will take place at the Algarve International Race Track in late March.

Tickets for the race are already on sale in.
