Slovaks like winter holidays: How much money is they willing to spend daily?

More than half of the Slovaks are going on an average of two to three days for a winter holiday, with 47 % of which they plan to spend from € 40 to 100 per person per day. 20 % of people would like to spend a holiday in the mountains at least twice a year. Almost three quarters of them want to pay with a card, mobile or watch in the mountains. This stems from a Visa survey conducted by Response NOW in December last year on a sample of 1,000 respondents from 18 to 60 years of age.

“Only 39 % of Slovaks are really going to ski, most are going to wellness, monuments or gastronomic experiences,” Visa manager for Slovakia Ľubica Gubová said. 58 % of Slovaks, wellness procedures 50 % and gastronomic experiences are planned to visit local monuments or go hiking.

The younger generation from 18 to 29 is planned by a winter holiday abroad. Most often, young people want to go to Poland, a total of 16 %. Other destinations are the Czech Republic and Austria, where it wants to travel in the same 12 %. On the other hand, the most tourists from Hungary are expected in Slovakia, namely 14 %. Poles should account for nine percent and Czechs eight percent.

In the mountains, people most often want to pay by mobile phone, card or watch. The survey shows that if it was not possible to pay digital in the ski resorts, 17 % of the respondents would spend less. As a result of the impossibility of such a payment, 13 % would go to the competition and nine percent would not return to the same place in the future. A total of 65 % of Slovaks would appreciate if they could go on the slope without a wallet and only paid by mobile or watch.

Most people pay digital for snacks, namely 33 %. This is followed by accommodation with 26 % and ski tickets with nine percent. 35 % of respondents complain about the impossibility of paying the card for parking, for refreshments and restaurants, it is 16 % and smaller stores 12 %. On the contrary, They most praise the possibility of digital payment for ski passes, with only seven percent of people having a problem with such payment.

“We live in the world of immediate payments. Customers and businesses are increasingly expecting smooth transactions, it does not matter who they buy or sell. Businesses require faster access to their funds and Customers want to be able to use their preferred payment methods around the world. Winter destinations are no exception, ” Gubová added that the possibility Paying by card or mobile can be decisive for choosing a destination for a winter holiday.
