Fraudsters lured from a 92-year-old pensioner from Trnava under a fake legend of 25,000 euros. She put the money in the bag and then threw it in a trash can in front of the house. Veronika Dachová, a spokeswoman for the Regional Directorate of the Police Force in Trnava, informed about it.
The pensioner first called the alleged postal courier, who told her that she would be delivered to the senior package. During the call he found out how high cash he had at home and whether she was alone. A few minutes later she had another call.
“The person introduced herself as a police officer who took advantage of her credibility and less caution caused by her high age and told her that she was registering fraudsters who are robbing seniors under the pretext of delivery of the package. Subsequently, she instructed her to put her money in the bag and then unload in a trash can in front of the house, ”the spokeswoman added.
During the previous two days, police received 11 calls from the Trnava district and ten calls from the Galanta district, in which seniors reported on the activities of fraudsters. The amount was paid in one case. Police calls on people for caution.
