Trump orders to look for all proper students to deport foreigners
The president of the United States, Donald Trump, signed an executive order on Wednesday to identify foreign students and teachers who participated in the proportive university protests in order to deport them.
The document instructs the Secretaries of State, Education and National Security to request US universities to monitor and inform about foreign student activities and teachers who may be considered anti -Semitic, in order to take measures in accordance with the law and, if applicable , act to expel them from the country.
The order establishes several provisions on anti -Semitism, but puts the focus especially on the protests that exploded in April 2024 on campus throughout the United States against the war in Gaza and Washington’s support to Israel, which lasts for about three months and left a balance of about 3,100 detainees.
In the text, Trump emphasizes that he decided to sign this executive order on anti -Semitism after returning to the White House on January 20, confirming that “Jewish students, in particular, faced anti -Semitic harassment in schools and in university campuses.”
Although the document assumes that the protesters committed anti -Semitic acts, they have denied that their protests had that intention or that they somehow support Hamas, and argue that they manifested themselves against the Israeli military offensive in Gaza, which has left more than 47,000 dead.
The Islamic-American Relations Council, one of the country’s main organizations in defense of Muslims’ rights, warned that if the order will implement the challenge in court. (EFE)
