Deputy (-SP) said on Friday (31) that he will continue to defend the former president (PL), one day after having his by TRE-SP (Regional Electoral Court) for spreading uninformation regarding the polls and the electoral process in 2022.
The final decision of the São Paulo Court is the final decision to the (Superior Electoral Court), and the effects of the decision are only valid after the depletion of appeals.
On the social network X (former Twitter), Zambelli reposed a PL support note with the words: “I appreciate the welcome and say that I will continue firm in search of the freedom of all Brazilians, even if my own is at stake. I will follow Also defending our President Jair Bolsonaro and I leave a special hug to the president. “
Zambelli was one of the former president’s best known allies throughout his term and one of the main voices in the speech against the electronic ballot boxes and the one adopted by pockets. Despite this, Bolsonaro distanced himself from the deputy after 2022.
In early 2023, the former president told the interlocutors that he was for the deputy. At the time, he believed that the parliamentarian would have made an agreement with the Supreme Court Minister () to return to social networks and be free from the threat of being arrested.
Nevertheless, after the conviction, the Bolsonaro family, including Jair himself, left the deputy. In an interview with a Goiana radio on Friday, the former Mandanician criticized the cassation and said that the measure results from one.
“The São Paulo TRE learned from the TSE,” Bolsonaro told Radio Bandeirantes Goiás. “This jurisprudence was opened to come up with me, so much so that the process I answer is this: discrediting the electoral system. “
The former first lady posted a photo with the deputy with the message: “Carlinha, receive my hug of solidarity. May God protect you and grant you the true peace, which exceeds all understanding.” In addition, the deputy (PL-SP) stated, in turn, that the decision “only reinforces the polarization and persecution to the right by giving an excuse ‘dissemination of fake news.”
With a score of 5 to 2, TRE-SP revoked Zambelli’s mandate and imposed ineligibility for eight years, from the year of the 2022 election. The judges recognized that there was misuse of the media and abuse of power political.
In a statement, the parliamentarian said she received the result with serenity and classified the trial as a “attempt to nullify the voice of the 946,244 citizens of São Paulo”.
