Four skyders, including two Portuguese instructors and two Scottish practitioners, were rescued this Friday, January 31, by the crew members of Ferragudo’s life station, after falling to the water during a leap to the Três Irmãos beach, in the municipality of Portimão.
The alert was received at 11:25 through a skydiver service company, immediately mobilizing teams from the Ferragudo Lung Station and the Maritime Police Local Command of Portimão. Elements of the Volunteer Firefighters of Portimão and the Emergency Medical and Resuscitation Medical Voluntary Firefighters were also moved to the site.
Upon arrival, the life station crew recovered the equipment of the skydivers and located the practitioners, who showed signs of tiredness, assisting them to the sand.
According to, “the victims were assisted by the Elements of VMER, with one of the instructors, a man about 40, was transported to a hospital unit by firefighters, with signs of exhaustion and hypothermia.”
The Local Command of the Maritime Police of Portimão took over the occurrence.
