On Wednesday (29), Barroso authorized the expansion of the deadline for courts to adapt to the CNJ resolution that provides for oral support recorded in virtual judgments.
The measure is defended as a way to streamline the processes. The resolution comes into force on Monday (3), but courts that asked for more time will have an extension of the deadline.
In the decision, Barroso says that judgments in electronic environment “have been adopted in several courts for years, with great efficiency gain”.
Sica countered the argument. “The efficiency of the judiciary should be thought of in terms of greater cooperation among law professionals and more effective judicial decisions and not to reduce citizens’ rights by taking the word of their lawyers,” he said.
