Value per liter of diesel will go from $ 3.48 to $ 3.72

Petrobras announced an increase in the price of diesel for distributors from this Saturday (1st). The value per liter will go from R $ 3.48 to R $ 3.72, a readjustment of R $ 0.22 (more than 6%). This is the first increase since October 2023 and occurs after 401 days without adjustments in the fuel value. With the new discharge, the portion of Petrobras in the formation of the end consumer price will be $ 3.20 per liter, impacting approximately $ 0.19 the price of diesel B, which is sold at posts and contains 14% of Biodiesel. In addition, the return on ICMS collection by states will add about $ 0.06 to the final price.

The readjustment was already expected by the market and was previously communicated by Petrobras President Magda Chambriard, President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT) and Ministers of Mines and Energy, Alexandre Silveira, and the Civil House, Rui Costa. Since December 2022, Petrobras has accumulated a reduction of R $ 0.77 per liter in the price of diesel, equivalent to a drop of 17.1%. When adjusted by inflation, this reduction reached R $ 1.20 per liter, or 24.5%.

The impact of the increase for consumers will depend on factors such as state taxes, distribution margins and resale, as well as competition with private refineries and imports.
