The Civil Police identified and indicted under suspicion of criminal association six Corinthians fans for the fight with São Paulo Avenue on Marquês de São Vicente, Barra Funda, west of São Paulo, on Sunday morning (26).
According to the Delegate of Drade (Police Station for Suppression of Sports Intolerance) Cesar Saad, the indicted fans belong to Gavião da Fiel, Corinthians’ main organized fans.
According to the Military Police, the confrontation occurred around 1 pm, a few hours before the classic between the two teams for the Paulista Championship. Images that circulate on social networks show the groups armed with sticks.
Saad said the identifications occurred with the help of monitoring cameras and videos of the fight itself. The investigation used facial recognition technology to reach the quarrels.
The delegate does not work with the ambush hypothesis, as both fans were armed with iron bars.
Only Sao Paulo fans should go to the stadium due to the unique crowd that prevails in the state. Corinthians fans headed to the fans headquarters, in Bom Retiro, a neighborhood near the confusion site, where they would watch the game.
The fight has not left prisoners or injured.
In the early evening of that Sunday, the Paulista Football Federation issued a note of repudiation about the episode, saying that the fight, 14 kilometers from the site and five hours before the match “involved criminals who use football as a pretext to extract character violent. ” According to the organization, those involved should be banned from stadiums and judged by acts as soon as possible.
The fight took place a few meters from Drade’s headquarters (a police station that investigates fans of fans) and the headquarters of the main organized fans of Palmeiras, rivals of São Paulo and Corinthians.
