Washington (Reuters)-The United States Army unit whose helicopter was involved in the night collision with a passenger jet in Washington was placed in operational pause, two US authorities told Reuters on Thursday, which means helicopters of this unit will not fly for now.

A US Army Blackhawk helicopter collided with an American Airlines passenger jet on Wednesday night near Reagan Washington National Airport, and both aircraft fell into the Potomac River. The military helicopter was on a training flight, but it is unclear what caused the accident. The authorities said there were no survivors.
