A zoo in China is under investigation after dyeing two to look like tigers. A video shared at Douyin, Chinese version of Tiktok, shows two black and orange stripes breed as they run in their room at Qinhu Bay Forest Animal Kingdom in Taizhou.
After being triggered by the local media, the zoo team confessed that the animals were chow chow dogs dyed and not real tigers. They also claimed that painting the animals was just a “trick” and that there was no risk to their health.
Internet users did not like the idea and criticized the zoo. “They definitely don’t dare bathe their dogs for fear of discoloration,” joked one person. Another commented, “A great tiger with dog temperament!”
Last year, even modeling their hair to look like “bamboo eaters”.
The attraction was quickly criticized by locals, who accused the zoo cruelty against animals.
The Chinese Zoo Qinhu Bay Forest Animal Kingdom was painted by Puppies of Hey-Chau to pretend to be tigers.
It is irony that it happened for the second time. Last year, the same zoo was overwhelmed with puppies of chow-chau on the pandas.
