The White House tried, on Friday (31), to reassure Americans that air trips remain safe-at the same time, criticism of federal hiring standards, linked to the administration of Donald Trump to the plane crash, were sustained. Wednesday (29).
The president “believes it’s really safe and Americans should feel safe traveling on our skies,” said press secretary Karoline Leavitt during a press conference on Friday.
“That said, two things can be true at the same time, and we certainly saw the deterioration of federal hiring standards in the Federal Administration of Aviation [FAA]and the president wants to increase these standards, ”said Leavitt.
To date, no investigation has failed the accident in FAA’s hiring standards.
On other occasions, Trump also stated that the pilots of the Army Black Hawk helicopter were “flying too loud.”
Leavitt later also defended Trump’s explicit description of former transport secretary Pete Buttigieg, made during his press statements the day before.
“I think one of the things the American people love most about this president is that they often say what they are thinking, but sometimes they don’t have the courage to say,” she said.
