Representatives of teachers and schools in the state of São Paulo signed this Friday (31) a joint statement in which they make it clear that it is the obligation of educational establishments to enforce
“It is up to the school to ensure the prohibition of use by students of personal portable electronic devices during class, recess or intervals between classes,” says the document signed by FEPESP (Federation of Teachers of the State of São Paulo), SIEESP (Union of Educational Establishment in the State of São Paulo) and Feeesp (Federation of Educational Establishments in the State of São Paulo).
The teachers will be responsible for communicating in writing the school board if the presence of some device on site is noticed.
According to workers’ representatives, the agreed text is a way not to be held responsible if cell phones are located at classrooms or used at intervals.
The law that commands them to be stored in places like cash at the beginning of the school period and recovered at the end of it.
