The likely return of (Union-AP) to the presidency of this Saturday (1st) has generated concerns in opposition to him in Amapá.

One of the groups that most fear the expansion of alcohumbre’s influence is that of the mayor of Macapá, Doctor Furlan (MDB), reelected with 85% of the votes in 2024 and quoted to dispute the government of Amapá in the 2026 elections.

In the state dispute, Furlan may be a candidate against the current governor Clécio Luís (Solidarity), the senator’s ally and who should try to reelection.

Therefore, there is a fear of Furlan that alcohubre use the power of president of the Senate to attract current allies of the mayor to the governor’s side.

Allies of the mayor of the Amapaense capital also fear that investigations against members of Furlan’s support base advances and can wear out his image, especially in, the main electoral college of the state.

Governor Clécio Luís is an alcohubre ally, also Senator (PT-AP) and the Lula Government Minister of Regional Development, former state governor Waldez Góes.

Randolfe and Waldez are quoted to dispute the Senate in the 2026 elections in Amapá.

In the ruling field, the return of alcohumbre is taken as crucial for Clécio to improve its popularity and go to the possible dispute against Furlan, who was first elected mayor in 2020 by beating Josiel Alcolumbre, David’s brother.
